I'm rereading James right now. It's funny how you hear what needs to be heard through the Bible. I've been pretty discouraged this past week with some different things that just are turning out for the worst. I just read James 1 where it talks about how perserverence through trials builds maturity. I was being really focused on how this was affecting ME. Now it makes me know that I'm just being tested, and I know that God cares enough to mature me in my relationship with Him. I've head this same stuff 1,000 times, but it's just hitting closer to home now.

Shopping Spree

Today Matt, Holly, and Kathryn asked my Mom for money to go buy me new clothes. My Mom said yes with one exception. They had to pick the clothes. Now aside from the embarrassment of not being able to pick clothes well, I must say I'm pleased. They got alot of stuff for not alot of money.

i am a nerd

I have a very shameful moment. I am about to embark to go see Star Wars for the second time in a 24 hour period. First I'm blogging about some software, then about seeing Star Wars for the second time. That's just sad. Oh well, the movie does kind of justify it though. It's pretty sweet.

I just got back from CompUSA where i have bought software to help me leap an ipod hurdle. On itunes you can't take songs off of your ipod and put back into itunes. That's a big bummer when you've lost CDs and want to copy another. The software is called tune transfer. It cost me $20, and it works like a dream.

Kingdom of Heaven

Yesteray, Garrett, Christine, and I went to go see Kingdom of Heaven. I'll go by Grant's grid for movies.
Did I yawn in the movie?
They did a good job on the anti-boredom factor. There always was something going on.

Did I get up to go to the bathroom?
Tough break, expecially when it's 2 and a half hours long.

How many quotes from the movie did I repeat in the next 5 hours after seeing the movie?
This was one of the movies stronger points. A ton of quotes.

Did I leave the theatre counting the days till it came out on DVD?
Nope not really.

Did it lead me to a "thin place"?
They had abunch of moments, but they never decided to go further with one idea. They just put out abunch.

Story vs. Content Meter
Well there was a pretty good amount of violence/blood. There was also a sex scene, but they both furthered the plot for the most part. The plot was good for the most part, but it was just so strung out. They never really had a climax. They had a great villian, but did nothing with him. It dissapoints me cause they had so many elements of the movie that were awesome, but they didn't stick to some of the basics.

Eye Candy Meter
Jackpot for Kingdom of Heaven. I have this one scene stuck in my head, where this guy gets shot through the neck in the beginning of a battle. he keeps on fighting and takes out like aton of guys. Also when they're attacking Jeruselam, the catapoltes are pretty cool.

My final grade for the movie........B-
They came soooooo close to having an awesome movie, but forgetting some of the basic elements that a story should have (climax, villian, ect..) really lowered it. It was also way too strung out. So pretty much, close but no cigar.

Sorry, it's been a while. Well over about the past month I've either been too busy to blog, or there was just nothing I felt like saying. So, I'll just give an update. I got back from Brazil, which was awesome. If you want to hear more about it, then you'll just have to get somebody for lunch. Had a tough time getting back to the real world. Had a ton of things on my mind for awhile. I still don't know what to think about alot of it. Now I've been getting ready for school to get out. I get out next Wednesday!!! But it does stink cause I'll be the the only one out. Oh well. There's some more stuff, but I don't feel like talking about it.
